Disaggregation is no longer something just for the lab. With deployments at ATT, Comcast, Deutsche Telekom, Orange and NTT, it's clear than many of the world's largest telcos are ploughing ahead, and reaping the benefits of network disaggregation, whether in the core, the edge or the RAN.
Lower costs, simpler automation, breaking free from single vendor lock-in... it is fast becoming the compelling network architecture for forward thinking operators.
We thought we'd plot the deployments we know about on a map, to keep track of disaggregated networks' progress. These countries all have publicly announced networks, or networks that we're aware of from our own deployments at RtBrick.
If you're aware of countries that we've missed, then please get in touch with us and let us know.
Either way, I think we can expect the world map of disaggregation to change pretty fast!
